Midlife Moms Seek Role Models For Inspiration, Reinvention

In Episode 9 I explore reasons why mothers in their 40s and 50s often wonder if life has "passed them by" and doubt their own capacity to reinvent themselves or create something new.

As a 45 year old self-confidence and wellness coach working with women all across the globe, I am fascinated by the way in which my female clients in their 40s and 50s so consistently mention the tension and fear they experienced around this topic.

Drawing on lessons from history and science, I examine the context in which today's mothers in midlife - the ladies of 2021 - are approaching their "second act."

I look at the messages that women in midlife today hear from their family, friends & colleagues (and the media at large) about their own potential to reinvent themselves after a certain age; what they are teaching their own daughters... and how those messages differ from those that were shared with generations of women that came before them.

Crucially, I’ll explore the importance of having strong role models during a time of self-renewal, and what to do if you are a woman who doesn't personally have any female role models to look up to as you work to reinvent yourself in midlife!

An empowering episode to kick off your new year!
